Mark Welch has a 25-year success record as a Consulting and Operations professional, and has developed and implemented winning Lean business strategies, processes and procedures for public and privately-owned businesses ranging in size from $50 million to over $3 billion in annual sales. After a varied operations career, including Industrial Engineering and Plant Management positions at Goodyear Aerospace, Amdahl, and Peerless Lighting, he began his migration toward consulting in New York City with Manex, a member of the Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP), creating their Lean Enterprise program.
As the Director of Lean Enterprise for Littelfuse, the largest circuit protection company in the world, he had the ultimate responsibility for the philosophy, training, roll-out, marketing, and execution of their global Continuous Improvement program involving over 5,000 Littelfuse associates in Lean efforts, and completing over 2,000 Lean projects. His team defined and created a standardized, robust Lean training and certification program, which led to successfully certifying over 60 local Lean Leaders and training an additional 150 associates in 13 global locations. As a result, three of Littelfuse’s global facilities have won the prestigious AME (Association for Manufacturing Excellence) Award of Excellence for their successful Lean Sigma culture.
Mark has consulted with a vast array of clients, including Harland American, Marich Confectionery, Pactiv, PG&E, Cal Maritime Academy, and Littelfuse. He is proficient in all major areas of Lean Enterprise implementations including: Hoshin Kanri, A3 Problem Solving, Value Stream Mapping, Standard Work development, 3P, Flow, and Pull, with special emphasis in Kaizen facilitation.
Mark is an avid supporter of the Association for Manufacturing Excellence (AME), and volunteers his time as a member of AME’s Western Board.
